Sarah J. Garnett, 87
Sarah Jo Garnett of Poulsbo died Feb. 14, 2004. She was 87.
Garnett was born to Joseph and Sadie (Bivins) Green in Birmingham, Ala. on Jan. 12, 1917.
She married Howard Garnett on Feb. 20, 1943.
Garnett graduated from high school and attended college in Birmingham, Ala.
She was a wife and a homemaker of a Navy officer. She and her family lived in many cities across the United States.
She was active in the Women’s Club at the Silverdale Methodist Church. She was also involved with the local garden club, PEO, and the officers’ wives group. She and her husband were part of the fellowship that launched the Poulsbo Community Church in 2000. She also enjoyed home decorating and entertaining.
She was a member of the Silverdale Methodist Church.
Garnett is survived by her husband Howard Garnett, sister-in-law Stella Morris; one grandchild; numerous nieces; and nephews and her caregiver Sundi Ogle.
Garnett was preceded in death by her brothers Tappan and Bivin; and one daughter, Mrs. Louis Betzing.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at The Stone Chapel.
A funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at The Stone Chapel. An interment will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo. Arrangements are being handled by The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
