Sherman Pruitt Jr., 89
Sherman Pruitt Jr. of Indianola died July 14, 2006. He was 89. He was born to Sherman Pruitt Sr. and Maizie Belle (Martz) Pruitt July 20, 1916 in San Francisco, Calif.
He married Gloria S. Newsome July 10, 1948 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Pruitt attended Broadway High School in Seattle and the University of Washington.
He served in the Army Air Corps and the US Air Force. He was a decorated veteran fighter pilot in WWII.
Pruitt worked in international aerospace sales for Northrop for 12 years and MacDonald Douglas for 12 years.
He was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He enjoyed boating, volunteering at SAR for 12 years, and taught boating safety.
Pruitt is survived by his wife Gloria N. Pruitt of Indianola; son Bradford B. (Linda) Pruitt of Olympia; daughter Lise (John) Winter of Scotland; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sherman Pruitt Sr. and Maizie Belle Pruitt.
