Shirley Browning

Shirley Browning, 78

Indianola resident Shirley Browning died Dec. 25, 2006. She was 78.

Browning was born to Ray Stevenson and Alfreida Elkins in Grand Junction, Colo. on March 17, 1918.

She married William Browning in 1952.

Browning and her husband lived in several cities before moving permanently to Indianola.

She was active in many community services including six years as the director of the North Kitsap Arts and Crafts, Association. She was well-known for her dedication and was honored in the Who’s Who by the Kitsap County Herald.

Browning is survived by her husband William Browning; sons Thomas (Debbi) Browning and John (Susanna) Browning; daughter Janice and her husband David; and six grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
