Shirley L. Foss of Poulsbo died Feb. 5 in Port Orchard. She was 83.

Foss was born to Dewey and Bertha Stevenson in Selby, SD on August 27, 1924. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1942, and married Oscar R. Foss on August 27, 1947 in Bremerton.

Foss was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed woodworking, raising turkeys, camping and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by son, Dennis Foss; sister, Bonnie McGraw; and brother, Robert Stevenson. She is survived by her sons, Richard R. and Ronald, both of Poulsbo; brother, Donald Stevenson of Corona, CA; sister, Dorothy E. Johnson of Poulsbo; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be at the Eagles Lodge of Poulsbo on Feb. 23 at noon. Inurnment will take place at Poulsbo City Cemetery at a later date.
