Stephen A. Kikuchi, 57
Stephen Arthur Kikuchi died in Indianola on Jan. 20, 2004. He was 57.
He was born to Arthur M. and Mary Migaki Kikuchi on July 19, 1946 in Yakima.
Kikuchi married Barbie Brooking in Camas on Sept. 21, 1974.
He graduated from Toppenish High School in 1964. In 1968, he received his BA from Washington State University, where he served as ASB president during his senior year. In 1969, he received a master’s degree in English literature from Columbia University in New York.
At the time of his death, he was the Assistant Director of Human Resources for King County. He had previously worked for the City of Seattle and the U.S. Office for Civil Rights.
Kikuchi loved soccer, biking, hiking and music. He also volunteered as an advisor to the American Friends Service Committee.
He is survived by his wife Barbie Brooking; sons Paul and Joel; brothers Richard and Danny; and sister-in-law Mary O’Brien.
Memorial services will be held in Seattle and Indianola. The Seattle service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 28 at University Friends Center, 4001 9th Ave. NE. The Indianola service will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 1 at Camp Indianola.
