Stephen G. Foster
Feb. 22, 1949 — Sept. 28, 2016
Steve Foster passed away Sept. 28, 2016 at Harrison Memorial, the same hospital he was born 67 years ago, on Feb. 22, 1949.
He was a member of the Poulsbo Rotary Club and was on the board of directors of Holly Ridge. His love of building and woodworking led him to spearhead and participate in numerous community projects in Poulsbo. Once he took something on, it was full steam ahead!
He worked in several fields until taking a job with Honeywell, later Hughes, and later Raytheon as facilities manager. He retired after 27 years in 2007, but continued to manage two other buildings until his full retirement in 2012.
He loved his wife Shirley, designing and building, watching movies, kayaking, RV-ing, food, children, yard sales and passing on his vast knowledge of anything construction. He was an all-or-nothing type of guy with a huge heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Wilder); a brother, Don of Port Orchard; two sisters, Linda San Gregory (Tom) of Port Angeles and Harriett Robinson of Auburn; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Floyd and Harriet Foster; sister, Sandy Gurley Black; and brother David Foster.
A celebration of his life will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Sons of Norway in Poulsbo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Morrow Manor in care of the Poulsbo Rotary or Holly Ridge. There is an online tribute for Stephen at www.rill.com.
