Thomas W. Ryan Jr., 74

Former Poulsbo resident Thomas W. Ryan Jr. died Sept. 5, 2005 in Seattle. He was 74.

He was born to Thomas Sr. and Barbara Ryan in Seattle on Oct. 21, 1930.

Ryan was married to Marilynne Anne Robinson for 48 years. They were married in Monterey, Calif.

He graduated from O’Dea High School in Seattle and from college in Santa Clara, Calif.

Ryan served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He worked in heavy construction as a superintendent, building throughout the Northwest, including on the Hood Canal Bridge and Delt Pier.

He enjoyed family gatherings, friends, genealogy and working on his 1950 Ford.

Ryan is survived by his sons Thomas W. Ryan III of Bremerton and Patrick Ryan of Missouri; daughters Shannon (Mark) Wagner of Albany, Ore. and Susan (Greg) Morgan of Bremerton; brother Dennis (Joan) Ryan of Spokane; sister Barbara (Robert) Mahaney of Monterey, Calif; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Catherine Sherman and wife Marilynne Robinson Ryan.

Services were private.
