Victoria Louise Somers of Kingston died Saturday, Dec. 8, at Children’s Hospital in Seattle. She was a 9-year-old fourth grader at the Island School on Bainbridge Island.

Somers was born March 19, 1992, to Alan and Sue Somers.

Her favorite class in school was math, and she also enjoyed writing. She enjoyed the outdoors and was active in the Camp Fire girls. Somers was an avid fan of Harry Potter.

Somers also was an animal lover who enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Muffy and Brandy. She had hoped to be a veterinarian when she grew up.

She is survived by her parents; her grandparents, Robert and Mary Johnson; her aunt and uncle, Jan and Jim Van Fredenberg; and cousins John, Kathy, Jerry and Jeff.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church on Bainbri
