Victoria Louise Somers, Kingston, died Dec. 8 at Children’s Hospital in Seattle. She was 9 years old.

She was born March 19, 1992 and attended Island School on Bainbridge Island where she was a fourth-grader.

According to her classmates at Island School, she was full of life and happy energy and brightened the lives of everyone around her. She always wanted to hurry up and try things. “I have a lot of play in me,” she said.

Victoria loved math and wrote long creative stories that went on for chapters. She was obsessed with Harry Potter and was thrilled to see the movie.

She built great forts in the woods behind the school and around her home and always had a project going.

She was an enthusiastic Camp Fire Girl and had a propensity for service projects.
