Wilbur “Bill” Stanley Boyton died Nov. 5 at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1925, in Mountainside, N.J., to Ruth (Suter) and George Boyton. He served with the U.S. Marines during WWII. He met and married Elizabeth “Betty” Reid in 1950.
He worked at Proctor and Gamble for 35 years and lived in Carteret, N.J. After retirement, he and Betty moved to Lancaster, Penn., where he began a second career driving for the Amish. In 1998, he and his wife moved to Bremerton to be near their daughter. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and bowled in a league until he had a stroke in 2008.
He was a member of the Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Fred.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Alan (Marena) Boyton; daughter, Dawn (Jim) Robson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at Stone Chapel in Poulsbo. In lieu of flowers, make contributions in his name to the Hospice of Kitsap County.
