William D. Crabtree, 80
William Dexter Crabtree, 80, of Bremerton died of natural causes Friday in Bremerton.
He was born in Galena, Kan., to William Thomas and Mary Alice (Diesler) Crabtree. He graduated from Galena High School in Galena in 1945. Mr. Crabtree served in the Navy from 1944 to 1966, reaching the rank of boatswain’s mate first class. He served in World War II and in Korea.
He enjoyed being out on the open water and fishing. He loved his two dogs, Rueben and Dexter. He also enjoyed taking ferry rides to Seattle, strolling through Pike’s Place Market, and attending Mariners games.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Harris of Tacoma; his grandchildren, Robyn Moinette Reed of Virginia, Robert Moinette of Olalla and Michael Moinette of Bremerton; his great-grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew Reed of Virginia and Claire Moinette of Bremerton; and his grandson-in-law, Rich Reed.
The memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Feb. 8 at Miller-Woodlawn. A wake will follow at the Eagles Hall on the corner of Sixth Street and Washington Avenue in Bremerton.
