Zachary John Schaeffer of Kingston died Jan. 30. He was 17.

Schaeffer was born in Port Angeles May 15, 1985 to Richard and Jill (Ketchum) Schaeffer.

He attended David Wolfle and Richard Gordon Elementary schools and Kingston Junior High and was a senior at North Kitsap High School.

He enjoyed snowboarding, jet skiing in the park, computers, choir, traveling, spending time with his family and his dog Gus.

He is survived by his parents Richard and Jill Schaeffer of Kingston; brother Charlie Schaeffer of Seattle; sisters Sarah Schaeffer of Kingston (currently teaching in Korea) and Cassie Grall of Lynnwood.

There was a public service at the North Kitsap High School Auditorium on Feb. 4.
