Vote integrity

To the editor:

Voting by party affiliation can work for many people most of the time. But what about Independents, like me, who prefer not to register with a party and thus don’t have an official party platform to support? On what do they base their decisions?

`I consider myself a conservative-leaning Independent. For me, the character of the nominee is a big determiner of my vote. A few times, to preserve my own sense of integrity, I have had to “forfeit” my vote with a write-in choice that I knew couldn’t win.

This year I really want my vote to count.

The character and integrity of a nation’s leader is fundamental to the nation’s well-being both at home and abroad. Trump’s actions and words do not demonstrate integrity and admirable character.

Regardless of your party affiliation, please join me in voting for the nominees who do demonstrate those qualities. Vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
