We can’t do it

without them

We are truly blessed in this community to have individuals and businesses step forward to lend a hand. We had a couple examples last week on the Clear Creek Trail.

Kids from the YMCA and Alternatives to Detention did a huge amount of work on our new boardwalk by the ponds next to All Star Lanes. We just needed to finish the decking. Associates from the Silverdale and Belfair Starbucks stores came out and finished that in a flash. I was impressed at the way they jumped on it and the fun they had doing it.

Some time ago, the shoulders of the bike trail eroded and the trail entry at Schold Road developed potholes from all the traffic. I got a call from Craig Luethe who offered to buy some rock and fix the problem. We went out and I watched him handle that grader like an artist. I’ve been around construction all my life and never saw anything like it. A real pro.

We often get thanks for the trail, but in fact, the real credit belongs to all those folks who chip in and contribute their talents. Thanks a million.
