Election 2009

Maupin will serve Bremerton well

I was born and raised in Bremerton. My employment relocated us to several different places in the state of Washington. Twenty years ago we moved back. At first, it was embarrassing to have out-of-town guests visit. I wanted to show off my hometown, but all I had was a bunch of empty buildings and a strong community of gangs, that at one time was a busy business district.

During the last eight years, there has been a major turnaround and movement in a very positive direction.

Will Maupin has played a big part in Bremerton’s renewal. Not only on the city council, but together with his wife Karen, supported many activities to include the YMCA relocation and building project, the arts and Admiral Theatre renovation, and youth sport programs. Opening their checkbook and donating both time and money, so others could enjoy these activities and educational programs as well.

We like and support the progress and improvements and are not willing to go backwards, but would like to recognize Will’s city council experience and leadership of various committees has prepared him for the office of mayor. We support Will Maupin for mayor, city of Bremerton.
