BREMERTON — Several local athletes won WIAA Athlete of the Week honors during the 2015-16 school year.
Crosspoint High School led local schools in recognition, with nine. Kalie Nation, a senior at Crosspoint, was recognized for her performance in three sports.
The WIAA — Washington Interscholastic Activities Association — is the governing body of prep sports in Washington. Each week throughout the school year, the WIAA recognizes varsity athletes, from each of the six classifications, who exhibited an outstanding performance for the previous week (based off of nominations).
Each winner received a letter of recognition from the WIAA executive director, a commemorative WIAA Athlete of the Week beanie, and a certificate.
Listed are the winners, the week they won, and the text from their nomination.
