North Kitsap responded for third place in the district tournament after defeating Foster 6-0.
The Vikings struggled in the first half despite controlling the possession. However, Mason Chmielewski’s throw-in was headed by Vittorio Sicchiero for the first goal in the 38th minute.
North Kitsap dominated in the second half scoring five goals. Aaron Lopez scored two, and Harper Sabari, Brian Montez de Oca and Ryder Doherty scored one goal each.
The Vikings will head into state as one of the favorites to win it all.
“Our confidence is high, and we’re pretty healthy at this point of the season,” coach Greg St. Peter said. “The shootout loss was a great motivator to come out strong today and hopefully put together another win streak. The talent is there to reach the finals again, but we’re focusing on one game at a time.”
