The South Kitsap girls basketball team is having a resurgent season led by a group of young players and a few key veterans.
Leading a team with seven sophomores and freshman has been Areeza Amian, an experienced junior point guard who has had a terrific run over the past four games, which has included two league wins.
Amian is averaging 10 points per game over that span while directing the offense from the point and playing aggressive defense.
Amian had 11 points in her team’s win over Olympia and scored 13 to go along with six rebounds against Graham-Kapowsin. She also played well in a close loss to Emerald Ridge, picking up 10 points and five rebounds.
