For the third consecutive year, Emily Riehl was one of the best high-jumpers in the state. The South Kitsap senior finished sixth in the pouring rain at Mount Tahoma Stadium last week, with a high mark of five feet, two inches.
Riehl placed seventh as a sophomore and sixth as a junior in the same event. Her personal best jump at South Kitsap is five feet, five inches. She also qualified for the 4A West Central/Southwest bi-district meet four times in the high jump, three times in the long jump and twice in the triple jump.
A three-sport athlete for South Kitsap, Riehl also served as a defender and midfielder on the soccer team and as a guard and forward on the basketball team.
