James Sanchez was the heart and soul of a mostly young Central Kitsap boys swim team this season.
The veteran senior finished up his career well at the 3A state meet this past weekend. Sanchez finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.08, which broke his own school record in the event.
Sanchez was also able to jump into the top eight of the 100-yard backstroke after initially being seeded ninth. He ended up finishing eighth in the backstroke with a time of 52.93 to get his second medal of the day.
