Baseball playoffs are in full swing and here’s a look at the road ahead for Central Kitsap, Klahowya and Olympic as each school vies for a berth to its respective state tournament.

Central Kitsap

The Class 4A Cougars (14-5 overall) are guaranteed a spot to districts, but they need to win today in a sub-district game against Gig Harbor (13-6) to secure the Narrows League No. 3 seed to districts.

A loss to Gig Harbor would make CK the Narrows No. 4 seed, meaning it would have to win two loser-out games at districts to advance to state. As the No. 3 seed, however, the Cougars would simply need to split two district games to qualify for state.

The Cougars beat Gig Harbor 5-4 March 24. Today’s game is at 6 p.m. at Heidelberg Field in Tacoma. Check back later for results.

Olympic

The Trojans must win their first two games at districts to stay in the mix for a berth to the Class 3A state tournament. That quest begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Kent Memorial Park against Franklin Pierce (12-5). If Olympic wins that game, then it faces another loser-out game at 7 p.m. Wednesday on the same field.

If the Trojans were to win Wednesday, then they’d play for a berth to state Saturday.

Klahowya

The Eagles (12-6) enter the Class 2A West Central District tournament as the Olympic League No. 2 seed after having dropped their final two regular season games and losing the fourth tiebreaker to Kingston for the No. 1 seed.

KSS faces Eatonville (5-10), the Nisqually League’s No. 3 seed, in a loser-out game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Legion Field in Bremerton.

A win Tuesday would give the Eagles two opportunities to reach state, the first coming against Fife at 4 p.m. Friday at Legion Field. The winner of that games clinches a berth to state, while the loser would play a loser-out, winner-to-state game at 4 p.m. Saturday.
