Steve Haizlip has resigned as coach of the Bainbridge High School boys basketball team.

The resignation was announced at a recent Bainbridge Island School District board meeting.

Haizlip coached the Spartans from the 2016-17 season until 2022-23, posting a 55-80 record and reaching the district playoffs last season. Haizlip gave the Spartans three straight winning seasons.

However, complaints by players, former players and the public led to his coaching actions being monitored this year.
