NK wins in soccer, softball

North Kitsap is still alive in the District 2/3 2A boys soccer tournament.

The Vikings, seeded third, pulled out a 5-4 win over 11th seeded Highline Thursday. As a result, NK plays at second-seeded Franklin Pierce Saturday. Earlier, NK lost to sixth seed CP 1-0.

Kingston was eliminated after losing to FP Thursday 2-1. Earlier, 14th seeded Kingston edged ninth-seed Foster 3-2.

Meanwhile, Bainbridge lost to sixth seed Stadium 1-0 in the District 3/4 3A boys soccer title game Thursday.

The eighth seeded Spartans still advance to state but seedings have not been set yet for that tournament. State games are May 17-18, 20-21 and 27-28.

Earlier, Bainbridge got by Gig Harbor 1-0.

Softball

In girls fastpitch softball North Kitsap edged Port Angeles Thursday 11-10 after pounding Bremerton 14-4 Tuesday.

Bainbridge lost to North Mason 5-3 and Kingston fell to Port Angeles 12-1 Tuesday.

North Mason beat Kingston Monday 10-1. The Bucs then fell to Sequim 11-1 Wednesday.

On Friday the 13th, Kingston plays at Bremerton, Olympic at Bainbridge and North Mason at North Kitsap, all at 4:15 p.m.
