Port Angeles outperforms North Kitsap | Boys Swimming

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles boys got five first-place finishes and four state qualifying times in a home meet Dec. 15 against North Kitsap.

Port Angeles won 94-84. Milo Atwater won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.52 seconds; Cameron Butler finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.97; Tristin Butler finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.78 seconds; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Cameron Butler, Karsten Hertzog, Alex Hertzog and Tristin Butler finished first with a time of 3:38.89.

Diver David Jensen won the 1-meter competition with 165.30 points.

Tristin Butler posted his third individual state qualifying time in the 200 individual medley, finishing second with a time of 2:05.61.

Other district qualifying times were Atwater in the 50 freestyle, Jonas Kongerslev in the 50 freestyle (25.06 seconds, second) and Noah Sinnes in the 100 backstroke (1:09.26 fourth).

The Roughriders take a break from competition until Jan. 6, when they go up against Klahowya at Olympic High School.

The Vikings face the Bremerton Knights next at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at Jarstad Aquatic Pool in Bremerton.
