BREMERTON — The Kingston Buccaneers were second-to-last in the 2A Olympic League standings as they headed to Silverdale Stadium Nov. 4.

After watching the Port Angeles Roughriders win 6-0 over the Sequim Wolves in the first game of the three-way tiebreaker, the Bucs prepared to play a shortened game against one of two teams they had defeated this season.

Port Angeles threw a late interception during the tiebreaker. The late interception gave the Buccaneers the ball at the Port Angeles 29-yard line with 1:04 to play.

On the drive, the Bucs moved down field and gave Kingston quarterback Jack Colletto the chance to score a 5-yard rushing touchdown that led to a 7-0 Buccaneer victory.

The loss ended the Riders’ season and secured a playoff birth for the Bucs (3-4, 3-7).
