POULSBO — Neither the Kingston Buccaneers or North Kitsap Vikings were able to overcome the South Kitsap High School boys swim team Dec. 18.

South Kitsap defeated the Bucs (95-73) and the Vikes (87-82) in a double duel at the North Kitsap Community Pool.

The Bucs were able to hold out until the 50 Free, when South Kitsap pulled ahead with 12 points. South Kitsap continued to pull away, finishing the 400 Free Relay and the meet with a first place finish.

The battle against the Vikes was slightly closer.

The North Kitsap team led 12-2 after the 200 Medley Relay, and then fell behind until the 100 Breaststroke. During the breaststroke, a first and second place finish brought the team back up (78-77). The Vikes lost after two 400 Free Relay teams were disqualified.
