GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. — Jesse Cummings continues to blister the baseball each time he steps to the plate. He recently finished up a stellar high school career at North Kitsap High School in the spring and is showing off his astute ability to make contact with the ball for the Seattle Bombers summer league baseball team.

The Bombers won the 18U Triple Crown World Series in Grand Junction, Colo. on July 29. Cummings was a major factor in the victory.

The steady second baseman finished with a .438 batting average as the Bombers put forth a 5-1 overall record during the tournament.

“It felt good to win the tournament,” he said. “We have been close to winning a lot of other tournaments this summer but we didn’t get it done. We got it done this time. It was fun.”

Bombers coach Mark Potoshnik is glad Cummings is on his roster.

“Jesse hit in the No. 3 slot for us at the World Series and came up with some big hits,” he said. “He was one of our better performers in the tournament.”
