Overview: The Highclimbers hoped that returning more starters — 17 — than any team in the league would mean different results, but this season looks like more of the same. Shelton has been blown out twice and its only win was 41-40 on Sept. 10 against Black Hills. The Highclimbers had a combined 1-19 record in 2008-09. South Kitsap has won the last two meetings between the schools by a combined score of 90-13. The Wolves have won three consecutive games against Shelton. The Highclimbers’ last win in the series came in 2004, when they won 47-18. Shelton won state championships in 1974 and 1985, but has not advanced to the state playoffs since ’91.
