UNIVERSITY PLACE — The Olympic High School girls bowling team took third place in the WIAA Class 3A/2A state championships at Narrows Plaza.
The Trojans finished with a two-day tally for 7,443 pins — 43 pins behind second-place R.A. Long of Longview which finished with 7,486. Columbia River, who finished with 7,734, took the state crown. Central Kitsap was seventh place at 6,764.
Among individual bowler, Bremerton’s Megan Wittenberg won the state title with a three-game total of 1,283 — 41 pins ahead of second-place Lauryn Heyling of Fort Vancouver.
Wittenberg’s teammate Myranda Dye was 24th at 968.
For Olympic, Ashlyn Jamrog was fourth at 1,207, Samantha Pratt was 28th (958), Rachel Godwin of was 30th (940) and Raeanne Kimple was 34th (928)
Central Kitsap’s Morgan Stout was 11th at 1,103, while teammates Mina Kawahara was 33rd (933), Sierra Lee was 36th (983), Amelia Hair was 39th (876).
Klahowya’s Ruth Click was 40th at 868.
