KINGSTON — The Kingston Buccaneers were marred by forfeits and pins in their first conference wrestling meet of the season, against the Port Angeles Roughriders on Dec. 10.
The Bucs were able to secure three wins out of the 14 matches. The Bucs forfeited four times with no one to wrestle in various weight classes.
Kingston junior George Wedig won by 4-2 decision in the 152-pound class.
Kingston senior Nicholas Waltersdorf won by decision in the 160-pound class.
And senior Troy Brady won by pin in 2 minutes 39 seconds in the 170-pound class.
Of the remaining wrestlers, freshman Colin Walmsley (106) was pinned in 2:44; Mathew Thomas (113) was pinned in 1:45; Josh Bayne (126) was pinned in 59 seconds; Peyton Reece (132) pinned in 4:56; Tyler Sloman (182) pinned in 3:42; Cameron Tangen (195) pinned in 3:02; Jacob Whitesitt (220) pinned in 1:39.
The Bucs compete in the Port Townsend Tournament on Dec. 13. The tournament begins at 10 a.m. and includes Port Townsend, Klahowya, Montesano, Omak and Vashon Island.
The North Kitsap Vikings lost to the Bremerton Knights 49-3 on Dec. 10. Complete results were not reported by the time the North Kitsap Herald went to press.
