Kingston baseball ready for playoffs, Pumas stay undefeated | Sports updates

Kingston tops Olympic, falls to Bellevue Christian

The Kingston High baseball team topped Olympic High Friday, 12-7. Nick Torento got the win for the Buccaneers.

The Bucs fell to Bellevue Christian High Saturday in a non-league game, 6-4. Kingston was trailing 6-1 going into the bottom of the seventh when they rallied for three more runs, but it wasn’t enough to top the Vikings.

The Bucs begin postseason play at 4 p.m. May 15 at Legion Field in Bremerton. They will face the winner of a Thursday game between Sequim and Fife.

Pumas shut out Spokane

The Kitsap Pumas soccer team shut out the Spokane Spiders in Spokane Saturday, 3-0. The game was scoreless until the 68th minute, when backup forward Tye Perdido knocked the ball into the back of the net. Cameron Hepple scored the next two goals, in the 85th and 90th minutes.

The Pumas are 2-0-0 in the regular season and play their home opener at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, against the Tacoma Tide at Bremerton Memorial Stadium.

North Kitsap boys fall to Redmond

The North Kitsap boys lacrosse team fell to Redmond Saturday, 13-1. It was the final game of the season for North Kitsap, which finished with a 3-11-0 record.

North Kitsap girls shut out by Kennedy

The North Kitsap girls lacrosse team was shut out by Kennedy Friday, 16-0. It was the final match of the season for North Kitsap, which finished with a record of 1-10-0.
