After being denied an appeal to play football at the 1A level during the WIAA 2024-28 classification cycle, Kingston High School will be joining the Nisqually League for football only for the next two seasons.
The Nisqually League is made up of 1A schools. Kingston is a 2A school, but just barely. Kingston athletic director Ed Call said he didn’t want to play football in the 2A Olympic League again, for safety concerns. It will remain in that league for other sports.
Call said: “This move has been made so that we can focus on player safety through competitive balance as we grow our program from [Kingston Youth Sports Association] through [Kingston Middle School] and to [Kingston High School]. Thank you all for your support and patience as we have navigated this course forward for our football program.”
Kingston’s 2024-25 football schedule follows:
Sept. 6/7 – HOME vs Foss
Sept. 13/14 – @ North Mason
Sept. 20/21 – @ Evergreen (Seattle)
Sept. 27/28 – HOME vs Bellevue Christian
Oct. 4/5 – HOME vs Cascade Christian
Oct. 11/12 – @ Vashon Island
Oct. 18/19 – HOME vs Life Christian Academy
Oct. 25/26 – @ East Jefferson
Nov. 1/2 – HOME vs Annie Wright
Nov. 8/9 – @ Klahowya
Exact game dates will be set on Fridays/Saturdays/Thursdays based on the availability of referees and event sites.
The 2025-26 schedule will be the same but venues will be flipped.
