Kingston Football | Fall Sports Preview

Kingston Football

Head coach: Alec Grimm

2018 record: 3-7 (0-6 Olympic)

Key players: Garrett Sitting Dog, sr., RB/LB; Kade Claymore, jr., QB/DB; Kyler Coe-Yarr, jr., RB/DB; Logan Jacobs, sr., OL/DL; Tyler Marquez, jr., RB/DB; Maxx Moran, sr., RB/LB.

Outlook: The Buccaneers got into the win column with victories over Port Townsend, Tenino and Evergreen last season after a winless season the previous year. Now the challenge ahead is to better compete in the Olympic League. They should be able to pick up some momentum and confidence early with games against Klahowya and Port Townsend before taking on Port Angeles in their first league game. Sitting Dog will serve as the team’s main running back and he rushed for over 900 yards last season, and players such as Marquez and Coe-Yarr bring good speed to the table. They’re short on depth, so health will be of the utmost importance for the program.

Schedule: Sept. 6, 6:30 p.m. at Klahowya | Sept. 12, 6:30 p.m., Port Townsend | Sept. 20, 6:30 p.m. at Port Angeles | Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m., Olympic | Oct. 4, 6:30 p.m. at Sequim | Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m., North Kitsap | Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m., Bremerton | Oct. 25, 6:30 p.m., North Mason | Nov. 1, 7 p.m. at Tenino.
