MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Fresh out of high school, Gabbi Garcia has landed a spot on the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders softball roster for the 2015 season.
Garcia, a Poulsbo resident and graduate of Kingston High School, was recently recruited by the team to play Division II softball in the fall.
Garcia is a second baseman. She was named to the all-league first team and played in the all-league all-star game. As a senior, she batted .509 with four extra base hits, 12 RBIs and one strikeout in 57 at-bats. She earned academic honors at the state and conference level. She was an honors graduate.
“Gabbi brings us a level of quickness at the plate we currently do not have on the team,” Raiders’ head coach Marcus Wenzel said. “She is a natural slapper that can give us more variety on offense.”
During her last season with the Buccaneers, Garcia and the Bucs earned a berth in the district tournament. The Bucs lasted until the tournament finals, where they were eliminated.
