The Kitsap Pumas’ first-ever home playoff match is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Bremerton Memorial Stadium.
Fresh off a United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League Northwest Division crown, the Pumas (12-1-3) will host either the Seattle Wolves (10-3-3) or Portland Timbers U23 (11-3-2). Portland hosts Seattle at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the winner advancing.
The first-year Pumas went a combined 3-0-1 against Seattle and Portland during the regular season, defeating the Wolves twice (2-1 on May 30 and 2-0 on June 30) and the Timbers once (1-0 on June 6). The Pumas and Timbers tied 1-1 on July 4.
A win Saturday would catapult the Pumas, who finished with the third-best overall record in the 68-club PDL, to the quarterfinals. The club has already put in a bid to host that game.
Playoff tickets are available via the club’s online ticketing partner Brown Paper Tickets. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The game also will be broadcast live on KITZ AM 1400.
