Tryouts for the 2010 Kitsap Pumas Pro-Youth soccer academy kick off May 2 on the fields of the former Bremerton Junior High on Wheaton Way. Teams will consist of players from across the county and will be trained once-weekly by the professional players and coaches of the Kitsap Pumas.

Cost for those earning a position on the Pro-Youth teams is $300 per player, excluding tournament fees. Players will receive an official Pumas team kit (jersey, shorts, socks), a 2010 season ticket and more. For more information and to register, visit www.kitsapsoccerclub.com.

The tryout schedule is as follows:

Girls U17 — 10 a.m. to noon May 2 at Bremerton Junior High (on Wheaton Way behind Albertson’s)

Boys U12/13 and Girls U13/14 — 2-4 p.m. May 16 at Bremerton High School’s Memorial Stadium (1500 13th St)

Boys U17/18 and Boys U15/16 — 4-6 p.m. at Bremerton High

Boys U12/13 and Girls U13/14 — 2-4 p.m. May 23 at Bremerton High

Boys U17/18 & Boys 15/16 — 4-6 p.m. May 23 at Bremerton High
