The Bainbridge playoff run in baseball began May 5 when the Spartans won their play-in game against Mountain View 2-1. Despite being ranked in the top five, the Spartans drew the 17th seed and faced Bonney Lake May 9, after deadline. Similar to baseball, the Spartans are the 17th seed and have two paths to state. They can either win two straight or win, lose then win to qualify.

The boys tennis team will send Brogan Rice as their only representative. Rice was originally an alternate who qualified and will compete at the Vancouver Tennis Center May 26-27.

The girls team still needs to qualify through the districts. The most the Spartans will be able to send to Vancouver is one doubles team and one single’s player. They will also compete May 26-27 if they qualify.

Bainbridge’s track and field team will compete in the North Puget Sound League Championships before districts. The top six from each event there will qualify for the West Central District III Meet May 17-19. Until then, the Spartans must head to Kent-Meridian High School May 10-12.

North Kitsap

North Kitsap’s baseball team drew the second seed and will face Steilacoom May 9. If the Vikings win, they qualify for state. In addition, their semifinal and championship match will take place at Central Kitsap May 13.

Although the district seeding is not set for softball, the Vikings should be one of the highest seeds. Therefore, the Vikings should be set to be in a spot to only win one game to qualify for state. They will compete in Lacey May 19-20.

North Kitsap’s soccer squad also drew the No. 2 seed. The Vikings need one win to qualify for state. Their first game will be at North Kitsap May 9 against No. 9 Clover Park.

Olympic’s softball squad sits third in the Olympic League, behind North Kitsap and Sequim. Therefore, the Trojans should draw a middle to low seed in the district playoffs May 19.

Olympic’s Bailey Walton will most likely be the top Trojan to compete at the state tennis tournament. Although she ranks third in the Olympic League, she is a Top 10 -caliber player in the state. If she qualifies, she will head to the Nordstrom Tennis Center May 26-27.

The track and field teams will head to the West Central Districts May 17-19 and state May 25-27 if anyone qualifies.

Central Kitsap

Central Kitsap drew the 16th seed in the District 3/4 baseball tournament. The Cougars face Kelso at Rister Stadium May 9. The Cougars can reach state with either three-straight wins or two wins, a loss and then a win.

CK has a chance to qualify as a low-seed for fastpitch since the South Sound Conference earns five allocations. Currently, the Cougars sit one game behind River Ridge for fifth place with a 4-7 league record. However, CK has four games remaining compared to River Ridge’s two. If the Cougars, qualify, they will begin playing May 17 on the road.
