Just one season after leading the school to its first-ever state championship in baseball, Klahowya’s Eddie Beloate is stepping away from coaching.
The longtime multi-sport coach provided a short statement Aug. 28. He said, “It has been a great run, but after 25 plus years of coaching a variety of sports it’s time to enjoy a bit more time at home while pursuing other passions.”
Beloate was responsible in the later part of his coaching career for leading Klahowya baseball out of the COVID pandemic and ultimately to new heights. His Eagles’ second-place finish in the 1A Nisqually League in 2022 and subsequent state berth was a short-lived victory, Klahowya going one-and-done in a continuation of the program’s all-time winless state playoff record.
Beloate would build his team up to do more than just break that streak in 2023. The Eagles cruised to a league title, and its 12-1 victory over top-ranked Naches Valley solidified Klahowya’s status as the best 1A program in Washington that year.
The Eagles would take a step back in 2024, managing a top-three league finish in the regular season before falling short of a state berth.
