RENO, Nev. — Josh Klatman of Port Orchard has bumped up to AA Pro standing by taking two wins last month.

Klatman  is now USA BMX’s most recent AA Pro.

Klatman turned A Pro last January in Reno. Riders at the A Pro level jump to the AA Pro level if they earn $4,000 in professional races. Klatman achieved that through impressive finishes at races throughout the west including Oregon and Utah.

Klatman is a two-time USA BMX No. 1 amateur, winning the titles in 2010 and 2011. He is only the fifth man in BMX racing history to win the title twice.

The 22-year-old Klatman began racing BMX bikes at Peninsula Indoor BMX and South Kitsap BMX when he was five years old. He is a graduate of South Kitsap High School and is a full-time student in Washington State University’s mechanical engineering program at Olympic College.

Klatman is employed by Olympic Fitness, runs frequent group BMX clinics and gives private BMX training sessions to riders from age five to 60.

His major sponsor is Redline Bicycles of Seattle.
