Bainbridge volleyball standout and Loyola Marymount University commit Holley McFadden was named the 2A Olympic League’s Most Valuable Player, an honor she earned a share of last season, following the conclusion of the Spartans’ state-bound 2024 season.
McFadden’s dominance as an outside hitter helped the Spartans win the league regular season title with a 14-0 record and the first district championship in program history. Bainbridge fell just short of a top eight finish, going 1-2 against state opponents in Yakima.
Another Spartan, sophomore Kira O’Malley, was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year. The defensive specialist helped Bainbridge limit opponents to just eight won sets vs. the Spartans prior to state.
All-league first-time honors went to Zariyah Francis and Noella Rosentrater, while second-team honors were earned by Rollins Anderson and Lolo Batcheller.
North Kitsap also clinched a spot in state this year, taking third in the Olympic League with an 11-4 record and recovering from a district semifinals loss to beat Olympic and secure a ticket to Yakima. The Vikings went 0-2 at state.
Teegan DeVries earned a first-team all-league spot, and second-team honors went to Silvia Okunami and Adeline La Tour.
Olympic’s final season under longtime head coach Keith Peden finished just short of what would have been his third trip to state, the Trojans finishing right behind the Vikings with a 9-5 league record. Josslyn McGarrah earned an all-league first-team honor. Second-team honors went to Kailee Thompson.
Central Kitsap’s second-straight trip to state and second-place finishes at both the inaugural Puget Sound League tournament and districts was enough to earn Katie Pasi the distinction of 2024 Narrows Division Coach of the Year for volleyball.
The Cougs took well to the change, intimidating as it was, and captured a first-place regular season finish with a 13-3 league record.
Voting also recognized CK senior Jordan Lingenbrink as the Most Valuable Player.
First-team honors went to Manaia Pasi and Sydney Lingenbrink, and second-team spots went to Ellie Smith and Iliana Brockett.
South Kitsap’s aspirations fell short of a trip to state, but the Wolves finished with a 7-5 record in their league regular season. AJ Bernard took home a second-team spot, and Savannah Browning earned an honorable mention in the South Puget Sound League’s voting.
In the 1A Nisqually League, Klahowya’s Danika Francis picked up second-team honors.
In the Sea-Tac League 1B, Crosspoint’s Abigail Benkert was honored with a first-team spot, and Sofia Clement was honored with a spot on the second-team.
