Central Kitsap, Olympic and Klahowya went a combined 0-3 on the gridiron Friday.
The Cougars (2-3 overall, 2-2 league) suffered their first setback to South Kitsap since 2006, falling to the sixth-ranked Wolves 10-0 in Narrows League action at Joe Knowles Field.
Quarterback Brett McDonald completed 9 of 16 passes for 75 yards and an interception and Monterill Anderson managed just 33 yards on the ground as the Cougars were held scoreless for the first time this season. South (5-0, 4-0) scored the game’s only touchdown in the third quarter when Chris Nenninger returned an interception 2 yards for a score.
The Trojans (2-3, 0-3) lost for the third time in as many games, this time on the road to No. 7 Timberline in Olympic/Western Cascade play, 63-21.
Larry Dixon scored on an 11-yard run as well as a 69-yard reception, but it wasn’t nearly enough to erase a 35-0 deficit. Oly, which allowed a combined 10 points in its two victories, has given up 165 points (45 per game) over the past three.
The team hosts Yelm at 5 p.m. Friday.
Klahowya was on the short end of yet another lopsided game, allowing 33 first-quarter points en route to a 47-0 loss to Sequim at Silverdale Stadium. The Eagles (0-5, 0-3) have been outscored 111-0 over the past two games and 246-28 on the season. The team is at Fife at 7 p.m. Friday.
Girls soccer
Klahowya and Olympic, both undefeated in Olympic League play, square off at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at Silverdale Stadium.
KSS (7-0-1, 5-0-1) has cruised through the first half of the schedule, outscoring opponents 22-3, but faces its toughest tests to date over the next two games in Oly and Class 3A North Kitsap, which also is undefeated in league play.
The Lady Trojans (6-2-1, 4-0-1) have won four straight games — all shutouts — by a combined score of 8-0. Goalkeeper Darrien Dorr, who has registered six shutouts on the year, has allowed five goals this season.
Central Kitsap, meanwhile, hosts Shelton at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Silverdale Stadium. The Lady Cougars (5-2-2, 2-1-2) are coming off a 1-1 tie against South Kitsap.
