2A meet
North Kitsap finished fifth in the 2A classification at the WIAA state swim championships at Federal Way last weekend.
The Vikings scored 104 points, while Kingston was 12th with 78.5.
NK’s Levi McClain finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly in 54.22 seconds.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Max Nolan, James Mayou, Henry Maxwell and McClain finished fourth in 1:34.86 for NK. Kingston’s Zachery Cummings, Tyler Chamberlain, Tyler Riffle and Josh VanHuis finished 13th in 1:41.08.
In the 100 breaststroke, Buc Cummings finished sixth in 1:02.38.
Buc VanHuis returned in the 200 free, placing seventh in 1:55.07.
In the 500 free, VanHuis finished seventh in 5:10.16, Maxwell ninth in 5:17.88 and Viking Andrew Gyllensten 14th in 5:32.41.
In the 400 free relay, Maxwell, Gyllensten, Nolan and McClain finished seventh in 3:34.35 for NK. Kingston’s Noah Simontov, Luke Nolan, Rowan Evans and Isaiah Najr placed 17th in 4:07.34.
Kingston was eighth in the 200 medley relay 1:50.31. VanHuis, Chamberlain, Cummings and Riffle were the relay members.
Viking McClain finished 10th in the 200 individual medley in 2:08.59 and Buc Cummings 14th in 2:11.40.
North Kitsap’s Justin Anderson and Rydley Strong finished 11th and 12th in diving with 176.65 and 175.80 points. Kingston’s Jude Hamilton finished 14th with 161.20.
