NK Explosion ’93 wins state league

Last week NK Explosion ‘93 claimed sole possession of first place in the Washington State Youth Soccer Association’s premiere Division I league, as the U15 team defeated SCFC Rapids, 2-0, at the North Kitsap Stadium. Of 24 teams in three leagues, the Explosion is No. 1.

Last week NK Explosion ‘93 claimed sole possession of first place in the Washington State Youth Soccer Association’s premiere Division I league, as the U15 team defeated SCFC Rapids, 2-0, at the North Kitsap Stadium. Of 24 teams in three leagues, the Explosion is No. 1.

Throughout the season the boys won 25 games, including five tournaments, only taking four losses and three ties.

The team has won more tournaments in the last four years than all the North Kitsap Soccer Club teams combined, said coach Glenn Gracey. The Explosion dominated both on offense and defense, scoring 105 goals and only had 26 scored against.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend the team will travel to San Diego to compete in the Nomad Tournament. Upon returning to Kitsap the boys will begin preparations to compete in the state finals, Championship Cup, which begins Jan. 17, 2009.

The team is coached by Darryl Wilder, Gracey and Jeremy Holland. The players are; Alex Coplan, Ismael De Luna, Nathan Dulay, Chris Gracey, Jordan Hadden, Ben Holland, Juan Ramirez, Sebastian Scales, Tyler Swansboro, Cody Sweeney, Nick Tedford, Carlos Tirado, Garrett Wilder and Fisher Young.
