Salix Wartes-Kahl had the best finish for North Kitsap at the state 2A track meet at Mount Tahoma High School over the weekend, placing second in the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 19.98 seconds.
In the 4 by 200 relay, the NK girls also were second with a time of 1:46.77 seconds.
NK’s 4 by 100 boys relay team was third with a time of 43.68 seconds.
Tenechi Gordon was fourth in the pole vault at 12 feet, 6 inches. Teammate Caleb Leche was 15th at 11-0.
Viking Laine Miller was fifth in the discus at 140-08. In the girls 4 by 400 relay, NK was fifth with a clocking of 4:11.09.
In the boys 400, Jonathan Olmsted placed sixth in 51.39 seconds. Lillian Pruden placed sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:00.44.
In the high jump Stephanie Lara was eighth with a mark of 4 feet, 10 inches. Kate Posten was 13th at 4-6.
NK was ninth in the boys 4 by 400 with a time of 3:31.95. Jay Ashford-Downing was ninth in the high jump at 5-10.
In the 4 by 100 girls relay, NK was 10th in 52.21 seconds. Pruden was 10th in the girls 200 at 27.36. Placing 14th was Emerson Bollert in 27.99. Logan Sloman of NK was 10th in the 200 in 23.44 seconds. Olmsted was 12th in 23.6.
Kaya Ochs was 11th in the pole vault at 8-0.
Shelby Snider was 12th in the triple jump with a 31-06.25. Aleca Ibarras was 12th in the 800 at 2:00.52. Matthew Fee ran a 2:09.80 for 16th place. Lincoln Castillo was 12th in the long jump at 19 feet, 7.75 inches. In the 1600, Wartes-Kahl was 12th in a time of 5:16.67.
Isaac Lesco was 13th in the javelin at 127-06. In the 110-meter hurdles, Carter Braund was 13th in 16.99 seconds.
Genesi Funston was 14th in the 800 at 2:25.14. Derek Cordova was 14th in the 3200 meters with a clocking of 10:05.38.
Corinne Aala was 16th in the discus at 93-02. Sloman was 16th in the 100 at 11.74.

For Kingston, Lynn Nelson was sixth in the javelin with a toss of 107 feet, 10 inches.
Joseph Jafek-Irigaray was 12th in the pole vault at 11-6.
Alice Moe did not finish in the finals after placing 14th in the 3200 in the preliminaries with a time of 12:21.12.
Leighton Menge was seeded 12th in the 100 hurdles in 16.97 seconds, but was not in a heat.
