North Kitsap and Kingston hosted a five-team dual meet at the North Kitsap community pool Oct.11.
Although the five teams competed at the same time, not all of them competed against each other at once.
Instead, Bremerton defeated Olympic 84-63, Klahowya defeated Kingston 102-25, North Kitsap defeated Kingston 118-27 and Klahowya defeated Olympic 90-59.
Despite battling against one or two of the teams, all five shared the pool at the same time.
NK won the 200-yard medley relay event. Tiffany Le, Audrey Crossgrove, Shosho McLain and Ashley Husmoe had a time of 1 minute, 58.14 seconds. Bremerton’s Avari Harmon, Iris Morris, Gabbie Patti and Atti Cabato finished second in 2:12.32 and Klahowya’s Maggie Keenan, Nora Giro, Yulia Farmer and Kaiya Pasternak third in 2:13.38.
Harmon won the 200-yard freestyle afterward in 2:21.26. Vikings’ Natalie Ramey and Eden Parry finished second and third in 2:24.05 and 2:28.64.
Farmer won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:36.70 while Viking Izzy Cera finished second in 2:41.71 and Trojan Kaylee Vogelpohl third in 2:49.42.
Patti won the 50-yard free and qualified for state in 25.27 seconds. Le ended second in 26.65 and Kingston’s Lilia Manges third in 27.33.
North Kitsap’s Jane Leithead was the lone diver with 76.5 points.
Ramey followed with a win in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:12.98. Cera finished second in 1:16.03 and Giro third in 1:17.99.
Farmer earned her second gold medal of the day in the 100-yard frees in 59.38. Manges fell shortly behind in second with 59.99, and Harmon ended up third with a 1:03.97.
NK swept the 500-yard free. McLain won in 5:47.07, Husmoe finished second in 5:58.01 and Le third in 6:30.06.
Bremerton’s Cabato, Evvie Bevers, Harmon and Patti won the 200 free relay in 1:56.25. Crossgrove, Ramey, Parry and Cera finished second in 1:58.06 while Klahowya’s Maddie McComb, Reagan Palmer, Rory deCourval and Allie Corn finished third in 2:17.70.
Patti earned her second state-qualifying time and won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.97. North Kitsap’s Nadia Barry finished second in 1:15.42 and Keenan finished third in 1:21.27.
McLain won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.50, Olympic’s Jazmyn Coviello finished second in 1:18.27 and Crossgrove third in 1:18.76.
The Vikings dominated the final event. Cera, Husmoe, Barry and Le won the 400-yard free relay in 4:19.52. Teammates, Ramey, Parry, Lila O’Neil-Heine and McLain finished third in 4:33.86.
Klahowya finished in between the two Viking squads to end the meet. Farmer, Keenan, Pasternak and Giro finished in 4:23.97.
