POULSBO — A slew of sporting events and activities in the North Kitsap School District were cancelled between Jan. 16 and Jan. 20 after a winter storm continued its disruptive course.

According to an email sent out by the school district, all events and activities scheduled to take place in NKSD are cancelled for Jan. 20.

Beginning Jan. 21, however, the North Kitsap Community Pool will be open. The North Kitsap High School Band Booster Rummage Sale is also still on schedule — 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NKHS Commons.

The Kingston High School Winter Ball is cancelled and will be rescheduled.

The cancellations began with gymnastics Jan. 16. The only teams not affected by the weather were the Kingston High School boys swim team and basketball teams, which had bye days.

Makeup games will be held in the following weeks, however, schedules have not been finalized.

The North Kitsap basketball teams will play Port Townsend Jan. 23. The teams were originally scheduled to compete Jan. 17. North Kitsap High School Athletic Director Craig Barry said the rest of the schedule may not be finalized until Monday.

Schedules will be posted online as they become available. Check NorthKitsapHerald.com and KingstonCommunity News.com for regular updates.
