North Kitsap girls top North Mason

The North Kitsap High girls golf team defeated North Mason High at Lakeland Village Golf Course Thursday, 41-33. North Mason’s Dawneesha Cathey earned medalist honors, shooting a 58 on the par-35 course.

North Kitsap boys defeat North Mason

The North Kitsap High boys golf team beat North Mason High Thursday at Lakeland Village Golf Course, 29-13. North Kitsap’s David Gerstenberger took medalist honors, shooting a 43 on the par-36 course.

The next match for the North Kitsap teams is April 20 at White Horse Golf Course in Kingston, where they will take on the Port Angeles Roughriders.

North Kitsap girls nab first win

The North Kitsap girls lacrosse team got its first win of the season Wednesday by defeating Holy Names, 5-3. Victoria Thomas had three goals for North Kitsap (1-4), and goalkeeper Val Kranich recorded 17 saves. North Kitsap’s next game is April 20 at Klahowya Secondary School in Silverdale.

North Kitsap boys edge South Kitsap

The North Kitsap boys lacrosse team edged out South Kitsap Thursday, 6-5, in double overtime. North Kitsap’s Colter Smith scored the winning goal with two minutes left in the second overtime period. North Kitsap improved to 2-4 on the season, while South dropped to 1-4. North Kitsap is scheduled to host Sammamish at 5 p.m. today.
