TACOMA – The North Kitsap girls basketball team meets East Valley of Yakima Feb. 24 in the regional tournament for a chance at advancing to the 2A State Girls Basketball Tournament, March 1-4 at the Yakima Valley SunDome. Game time is 6 p.m.

Olympic meets Renton at the same venue at 8 p.m. the same day.

North Kitsap (10-2, 18-5) placed second in the West Central District III tournament, losing to White River 56-41 on Feb. 18 at Foss High School. North Kitsap started the tournament with a 49-36 win over Fife and a 53-38 win over Franklin Pierce to advance to the championship game.

Olympic (9-3, 18-6) won its tournament opener with a 52-28 win over Steilacoom, lost 43-39 to Franklin Pierce, then defeated Eatonville 46-31 and Fife 48-38 to finish sixth.
