SOCCER

Kingston boys defeat Steilacoom

The Kingston High boys soccer team grabbed its third win of the season Saturday with a 1-0 victory at Steilacoom High. Brian Bain scored the winning goal in the 65th minute, assisted by Diego Portillo and Riley Anderson. Kingston begins Olympic League play Tuesday at home against Port Townsend. Kickoff is 6:45 p.m. at Buccaneer Field.

North Kitsap boys top Port Angeles Invite

The North Kitsap High boys track team placed first at the Port Angeles Invitational Saturday, with 122.5 points. Olympic High placed second, with 101 points. Kingston High placed fifth, with 68 points.

Kingston’s Nick Schippers took first in the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 3.03 seconds.

Several North Kitsap boys took first in their competitions. Alex Flores placed first in the 200 meters with a time of 22.74 seconds. Joel Brose won the 1,500 meters in 4:13.03. Tabor Reedy won the 3,000 meters in 9:23.28. North’s 4×100-meter relay team placed first with a time of 44.54 seconds. The 4×400-meter team won with a time of 3:35.85. Glenn Runnels won the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, 6 inches.

NK girls take first, Kingston second at Port Angeles Invite

The North Kitsap High girls track team took first place at the Port Angeles Invitational Saturday, with a score of 160 points. Kingston finished second, with 110.

Several North Kitsap girls placed first in their contests. Siara Byers won the 100 meters in a time of 13.10 seconds. Indigo Williams won the 200 meters in 28.14 seconds. Annelise Weinmann won the 3,000 meters in 10:47.00. Reagan Colyer won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.52 seconds. North’s 4×100-meter relay team placed first with a time of 51.31 seconds. The 4×200-meter team also took first, with a time of 1:50.61, and the 4×400-meter team placed first with a time of 4:21.17. Taylor Ottomano won the high jump at a height of 5 feet, and the triple jump with a distance of 36 feet, 10.5 inches.

Kingston’s Ruby Roberts won the 800 meters in a time of 2:28.35, and the 1,500 meters in 4:59.12.

LACROSSE

North Kitsap boys nab first win of the season

The North Kitsap boys lacrosse team defeated Liberty High Saturday, 13-2. North’s Jake Icard, Colter Smith and Ryan Perez each scored three goals.

NK girls fall to Auburn Mountainview

The North Kitsap girls lacrosse team fell to Auburn Mountainview Friday, 11-8. Hannah Morse led Auburn with eight goals.
