Bremerton’s baseball team dropped a heartbreaker Wednesday, falling 4-3 in a rescheduled game against Olympic. The Knights held Olympic scoreless for six innings, taking a 3-0 lead into the top of the seventh, but senior Eli Olson couldn’t get the final three outs in relief. Trojan Elliot Thorsen hit the game-winner with two outs and his team down 3-2 in the seventh. BHS (2-8 overall, 2-5 league) scored each of its three runs in the bottom of the third.

The Knights visited Klahowya Thursday, but results were not available at press time. The team will host Sequim Monday at Legion Field. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Fastpitch

Weather continued to hamper spring sports, forcing Bremerton’s fastpitch team to cancel its home game against Olympic.

“It got so bad that we couldn’t even step on the field,” coach Octavia Spann explained of the pesky rain.

The Lady Knights were scheduled to join the baseball team on the road against Klahowya Thursday and will make up the Olympic game at a later date.

Tennis

Bremerton’s girls tennis team edged North Mason 4-3 on Monday, pushing the Lady Knights up the Olympic League standings.

BHS swept all three singles matches, with Sandy Schmidt, Krystle Membrere and Paige Mitchell all coming away with victories. Megan Arriolla and Sarah Streuker teamed up in doubles action, winning their match in three sets 7-6 (10-8), 2-6, 6-4.

The Lady Knights hit the road for the next two matches, facing Sequim on Monday and Kingston on Wednesday. Both matches begin at 4 p.m.
